Playing two different games with two different brothers.
In an apparent fit of madness, I’ve recently started playing co – op games with both my younger brothers. Now I love my brothers, but if split screen play is anything to go by, we function better when we don’t game together. However what with the holiday season beginning to seep into my brain and grant me a benevolent outlook on life, I dived right into two titles with my brothers in tow.
The first game I’m playing is Killzone 3 with the teenage brother. It’s a beautiful looking game with fancy particles dancing around the screen and rays of light streaking over war torn vistas.
But my god can the character yell their mouths off.
Char: “When are you gonna learn to follow orders and [censored] the [censored] *%£$”?!?!”
Me: What did he just say??
Bro: I dunno, something. Look, my pistol can shoot grenades!
Me: That’s fantastic. Where are we meant to be going again?
Bro: The other way.. I wonder if I can hurt you with my bullets..
Me: Bro, WAIT!
Great, we have to start again. Oh lovely, my character is yelling obscenities again.
Bro: I wonder if I can stab you too?
The second game is a whole different kettle of fish. Kirby’s adventure Wii is a favorite of my other brother, a game I’ve pretty much refused to play up to this point. However we tried a few levels yesterday and today and I’m impressed by the depth to such a seemingly simple game. Kirby’s Adventure is fun.
Me: So I can only have one power at a time?
Bro: Yeah, so pick a good one.
Me: There, I got one!
Bro: Cool, rock power.
Me: So what can I do?
Bro: Well, you can turn into a rock..
Bro: That’s about it really. Keep up Michael, there are stars to gather!
Me: I cant.. I’ve turned into a rock so moving is pretty much a non option.
Bro: Huh? Oh right, press 2.
Me: Freedom! Let’s go then.
Bro: Not that way!
